Biography
Jacques Thiout: Born July 1, 1913 in Martin-Église (Seine-Maritime). Died on August 6, 1971 in Boulogne (Hauts-de-Seine). French. Painter. He was a student of the School of Arts Appliqués in Paris, from 1929 to 1933, then of the School of Fine Arts in the Studio of Lucien Simon. He participated in numerous groupings, among which: the Autumn Salons, of which he was a member, Tuileries, Comparaisons, Painters Witnesses of their Time, Drawing and Water Painting, Nationale des Beaux -Arts, of which he was a member, French Artists, where he obtained a gold medal, Independants, etc. He also obtained mentions at the Hallmark Awards, Eugène Carrière, etc. He showed his paintings in several solo exhibitions, in Paris since 1948, in Toulouse in 1958, in New York in 1962. He practices various techniques: oil, watercolor, fresco, stained glass. His work is very varied: portraits, nudes, still lifes, wall compositions. He had a neat invoice, proceeding by accents of light placed in chiaroscuro on half-tones. He benefited from numerous government purchases.
