René Joseph Marie Levrel :
Born March 12, 1900 in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique). Died in 1981. French.
Painter of typical subjects, animated landscapes, urban landscapes, flowers, engraver.
He had a scholarship from the government of Algeria and was a resident of the Villa Abd el Tif, between 1928 and 1930. Exhibitor of the Salon des Indépendants from 1925, he was also a member of the Salon d'Automne. He was featured in the exhibition entitled " From Bonnard to Baselitz at the National Library in Paris in 1992. He showed his works in personal exhibitions, notably in 1973.
Living for a long time on the Quai de la Tournelle in Paris, he painted many Parisian sites. A traveler, he also painted the quays of the Thames in London and the port of Amsterdam.
