René Audebès (1922-1993)
Born October 15, 1922 in Fongrave (Lot-et-Garonne). Died on September 30, 1993 in Paris. French. Painter, designer. After his first studies in the South-West, he came to Paris in 1944. He worked in the sketch workshop of the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, then was a student of the Metzinger Academy and became his assistant. Until 1953, he was then a professor at the same Frochot Academy. Until 1963, he led various courses in visual arts. Then he devoted himself entirely to his own research. He has participated in group exhibitions in France and abroad. He showed groups of his work in personal exhibitions in Paris: 1980 Galerie Jean-Pierre Lavignes, 1990 and 1992 Galerie Lavignes-Bastille. His works are very graphic, his style and themes are diverse. Often close to a certain abstraction, elements of reality nevertheless remain identifiable, notably architectural indications.
